If you are facing the Steelseries Microphone Not Working issue, read this article to fix it. This article also covers the SteelSeries Arctis Pro fix for gamers.
Allow Access to Your Microphone
If you're a PC gamer, you know how important it is to have a good microphone. After all, how else will you communicate with your teammates during an intense match? Unfortunately, sometimes things can go wrong, and your microphone may stop working. If you're experiencing trouble with your Steelseries microphone, read on for some tips on fixing the issue.
First, ensure your microphone is properly plugged into your PC. If it's not, that could be why it's not working. Also, check the Windows privacy settings to ensure that your microphone can access your PC. To do this, go to Windows Settings > Privacy > Microphone. If your microphone is turned off, then turn it on and try again.
Select the Headset as the Default Device
You'll need to go into your control panel and change the default input device to your headset. This is usually a pretty simple process, but if you're not sure how to do it, don't worry - we'll walk you through it.
First, open up the control panel and click on "Sound." This will bring up the sound settings for your computer.
Next, under the "Playback" tab, find your headset in the list of devices and click on it to select it.
Finally, click on the "Set Default" button to make your headset the default input device.
That's all there is to it! Once you've done this, your microphone should start working properly in your games.
Regulate the Level of the Microphone
You can try a few things to get your microphone working again. First, check to see if the mute button is turned on. If it is, turn it off and see if that solves the problem.
If the mute button isn't the issue, then the next thing to check is the microphone level. In Windows, go to the Control Panel and then to Sound. Under the Recording tab, find your Steelseries microphone and right-click on it. Select Properties and then go to the Levels tab. Make sure that the microphone is turned up all the way.
If you're still having problems, then the next step is to try a different USB port. Sometimes the problem can be with the port itself and not the microphone.
Finally, if none of these solutions work, you may need to contact Steelseries customer support. They should be able to help you troubleshoot the problem and get your microphone working again.
Update Audio Drivers
If the mic is not working, you'll need to open up the Device Manager. You can do this by right-clicking on the Start button and selecting "Device Manager" from the menu.
Once you're in the Device Manager, find the "Sound, video, and game controllers" section and expand it. Find your Steelseries headset in the list and right-click on it. Select "Update Driver Software" from the menu.
Now, you'll have two options. You can either let Windows automatically search for and install the driver, or you can browse your computer for the driver software. If you choose the latter option, you'll need to download the latest driver from the Steelseries website.
Once the driver is installed, restart your computer and try using your microphone again. It should now be working properly.
Install the SteelSeries Engine Software
In order to install the SteelSeries Engine Software in 2022, you'll first need to download the app from the Steelseries website. Once you've downloaded the app, follow the instructions on the website to install it.
Once the app is installed, open the SteelSeries Engine and go to the "Audio" tab. From here, you'll be able to adjust the settings for your microphone. Make sure the "Mic Boost" option is turned on, and then try using your microphone again.
If you're still having issues, try adjusting the "Mic Input" and "Mic Output" options. You can also try unchecking the "Noise Suppression" option to see if that helps.
Update Windows
Make sure to run Windows Updates. To do this, open the Start menu and type "update" into the search box. Then, click on the "Check for updates" link in the results.
If there are any updates available, install them and then restart your computer. Once your computer has restarted, try using your microphone again.
If you're still having trouble, the next thing to try is resetting your computer's audio settings (default format). To do this, open the Control Panel and click "Sound."
Under the "Playback" tab, find your computer's speakers and click "Properties." Then, under the "Advanced" tab, click on the "Reset" button.
After you've reset your audio settings, restart your computer and try using your microphone again.
How to Fix SteelSeries Arctis Pro Mic Not Working
It's one of the most frustrating things that can happen while gaming: your mic stops working. And when it's the SteelSeries Arctis Pro headset, one of the best gaming headsets on the market, it can be especially frustrating.
There are a few things that could be causing your Arctis Pro mic to stop working. The first thing to check is the volume. If it's turned down, you won't be able to be heard. If it's not that, the next thing to check is the press of the mic button. If it's not being fully pressed, it can cause your mic to cut in and out.
If those things don't solve the problem, there may be a firmware issue. SteelSeries has released a new firmware update for the Arctis Pro that should fix the mic issue. You can download it here.
Make sure that the SteelSeries Engine is up to date. If it's not, you can download the latest version from the SteelSeries website.
Once you've updated the SteelSeries Engine, the next thing you should do is check to see if there's an additional file that needs to be placed into the engine. You can find this file on the SteelSeries website.
If you're still having issues with the microphone not working, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the SteelSeries Engine.
If you still have issues after trying all those things, your SteelSeries Arctis Pro may be defective. If you bought it within the last year, it's covered by a warranty, and you can get a replacement. If it's been longer than a year, you might still be able to get it replaced if you contact SteelSeries customer service.
